Privacy policy
A plain-language explanation of what mom.pet collects, why, and the choices you have about it. If anything here is unclear, email us — a real person reads privacy@mom.pet.
What we collect
Site analytics
Aggregate, privacy-focused analytics on page views, referral source, and general device/location (city-level, from IP address, which we do not store) so we can see which guides are useful and which pages need work. We do not build individual browsing profiles from this data.
Newsletter email address
If you subscribe, we collect the email address you give us and, if you tell us, your pet’s species and life stage, so we can send more relevant content. We do not buy, rent, or sell email lists, and we do not add anyone to the list without an affirmative opt-in.
Affiliate-link click data
When you click an outbound affiliate link, the retailer or affiliate network (for example Chewy, Amazon, or a carrier’s referral program) receives a tracking parameter identifying that the click came from mom.pet, so they can credit us if you make a purchase. We do not receive your purchase details in return — we only see aggregate conversion counts and commission totals from our affiliate dashboards.
Cookies and tracking
We use a small number of cookies: an essential session cookie for basic site function, an analytics cookie, and affiliate-link tracking cookies set by our affiliate networks (Impact, Amazon Associates, and individual brand programs) when you click through to a retailer. Affiliate cookies typically expire in 24 hours to 30 days depending on the program, and they only identify that a click originated from mom.pet — they do not carry your name or email.
Your rights and choices
California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
mom.pet does not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in the way "sale" and "share" are defined under the CCPA/CPRA. You still have the right to know what we collect, request deletion, correct inaccurate information, and opt out of any future sale or sharing. To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@mom.pet with the subject line "CCPA Request."
Global Privacy Control
We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals. If your browser or extension sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a valid opt-out request for any sale or sharing of personal information under CCPA/CPRA, without requiring a separate form submission.
EU and UK visitors (GDPR)
If you are visiting from the EU or UK, we ask for your affirmative consent before setting non-essential cookies, including affiliate-link tracking cookies and analytics cookies, via a cookie banner shown on first visit. You can withdraw consent at any time by revisiting your cookie preferences, and you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing us.
Newsletter and CAN-SPAM
Every newsletter email we send includes a working unsubscribe link that takes effect immediately, no login or reason required, and our sender identity and physical mailing address are included in every message, as required by the CAN-SPAM Act. We do not use misleading subject lines, and we do not sell your email address to anyone.
